SLOW

The SLOW project (Simulating the LOcal Web) aims on the simulation of the local universe in a box of 500 Mpc/h based on CosmicFlows-2 observational data. The project and how these specific initial conditions are created is described in Sorce 2018 and Dolag et al. 2023. A series of follow up papers in detail investigates the properties of the predicted galaxy clusters counterparts and the large scale structure they life in (see Publications).

This figure shows a full sky representation of the SLOW simulation, with cross-identified galaxy clusters labeled. The simulation contains more than 40 galaxy cluster counterparts.

This figure shows the flow lines towards the simulated Shapley cluster, see Seidel et al. 2025 for details.
